It just isn’t practical or efficient to individually receive tens of thousands of cable and cord assemblies by scanning each item individually.
We individually barcode every item and every package for lot tracing and serialization. This is useful for identifying and limiting the impact of problems in the production process, for tracking the movement of goods and for documenting assets at the end-user level, but there just isn’t time for many OEMs to scan every item on inbound delivery.
Using 2D barcodes on outer cartons has given our customers the ability to download all of the barcodes contained in a box or carton with a single scan.
Coupled with our electronic pre-ship alerts, our customers know what is shipping, in which box before it ever arrives. Then once it does, a single scan can verify that everything has been received.
